Being bitter
How many of us have seen in movies characters who had dreams as a child, grew up to have nothing and doing nothing? They usually are very bitter and angry, frustrated with the world, the system and more so, with themselves. Feeling ashamed and helpless over time that turns into anger, they become mean towards people around them, unhappy towards their children, who only contribute to further financial strains.
Is it better to be happy and blindly chasing dreams, while not knowing if ever anything will work out for the better, or would it be better to be an angry and bitter adult? The latter is a much easier state to fall into.
Consider this: Day in day out, you would sit and wait for time to pass. Week in week out, you would watch your life go by. Whether is it 9am on a weekday when everyone goes to work, or 10pm on weekends when everyone has somewhere to be, or 3pm on Sundays when everyone is busy with friends or family, or is somewhere in the city shopping and eating, you would find yourself at home, watching shows you yawn at and falling asleep in order to kill time.
Those people are sad and it is a vicious cycle they are trapped in which the system don’t allow them to leave. Not even after generations of such miserable existence.
